Devils Pool Okavango

Devils Pool

Working on a sponsorship project with GEELY, I traveled to the actual Okavango to show where the Okavango car’s name originated from. Close by the route I had, Victoria Falls was situated. This waterfall is known for having the largest sheet of falling water in the world. With a small detour, I decided to try something that spikes the adrenalin. I swam to the edge of the waterfall itself!

There is no safety provided during this experience. There are also fish, that warmly approach any foreign visitor in the waters to nib on their skin. And throughout all this, only one guide accompanies the tourist on their swim to the edge of the waterfall. His one single job is to hold me and the other visitors by the ankles. That’s what keeps us apart from death.

To tell you the truth it is scary to go in the water in the beginning. But seeing a scene that is once in a lifetime is worth the risk. Letting go of fear, screaming, and witnessing a rainbow in this phenomenal place is an unforgettable memory of mine. I challenge every one of you – dare to try new things!
