Chornobyl

Chornobyl

After the long lockdown of COVID-19, something exciting had to spice up the life from isolation. At that time one of the first countries to open for travelling was Ukraine. And since the whole world was discussing topics of safety and hygiene, I decided to take a trip to Chornobyl. Another disaster as a result of human negligence. This time, however, to raise awareness about safety matters.

Knowing what happened in Chornobyl is quite suspicious and hard to convince that all safety measures are taken. But hey! Gotta take risk to educate! On arrival, the scenery, the stories of civilians and the whole of nature can be described with only one word – misery. One would get shocked at first. So many negative feelings run through one’s mind simultaneously. All that affects the psyche on a deep scale. I cannot describe how hard it is for a human to comprehend the tragedy that one mistake out of carelessness can cause. And that still affects the civilians and animals in that area after a generation.

In the end, mistakes do happen. What matters most is to learn from them. Raise awareness and avoid repeating them. Then move on peacefully with life.
